Sean Read Captain - M/Y Silver Angel

Yacht Decks once again performed at very short notice and up against challenging weather conditions and a very tight timeframe. The Re-caulking of several deck areas, planking repairs and sanding have resulted in Silver Angel looking in fine form for the next few months until we continue with stage 2 in the spring of 2020.

Rationale for investing in looking after your decks

The first thing owners and their guests see when boarding a yacht are the teak decks. All decks, like the rest of the vessel, need to be immaculate at all times but they are at risk, first from the elements and second, from the cleaning chemicals used.  Fading from UV light is unavoidable, but the result can be decks that become faded and grey. Acid in the cleaning products reduces the structural integrity of the caulk which in turn reduces the lifespan of the deck’s seal. Taking into consideration the cost of  a new teak deck, regular and timely maintenance is an investment that will prolong your deck’s life

We are committed to investing in state of the art equipment that enables us to fulfil our brief with minimum disruption or impact to crew and other trades working on board. This includes the best dust extraction units and industry-leading sanding and caulking tools.  We are constantly researching innovations in the marketplace that will make us even more effective or more efficient and, preferably, both.

“I just wanted to thank you for the deck work on TillyMint.

The owner is very happy and everyone thinks she’s a newly launched yacht - not bad for 14 years old eh

I would have no hesitation recommending you and Eamonn’s team to anyone so please feel free to use me as a reference if required.
